Gina has always found herself drawn to water. Growing up in the land locked midwest, she spent countless hours playing in the backyard creek. Summer vacations were spent lakeside. After college she moved to the east coast where she can see a river and the ocean nearly every day. Her art is a study on the solace being near water provides. Our emotional lives are mapped onto ocean waves, rising and falling, littered with a continuous stream of thoughts. They come and go, in an endless churn. The movement of the ocean is the natural world holding up a mirror to our psyche. The reflection creating a state of calm. A oneness. This feeling, this connection to nature is what Gina seeks in her paintings. She hopes hanging one in your home will invite you to take a moment to feel that connection yourself.
